Alex Slater's background spans 15 years in the design industry combined with nearly a decade in the music industry. In the latter space he has been focused on curating a record label (PUZL Records) and running an artist collective and event brand (LAMP) producing a wide range of music focused events in California.

In the last 5 years, Alex has grown his music production skills to a point where he has had the privilege to release his eclectic range of sounds with the likes of Perfect Driver and EIN2; as well as a host of remixes and originals on his own label.

This year Alex has had his sights set on releasing music with more labels and has already landed a double record release with UK based Polymath, operated by the acclaimed producer Third Son. The first will be a formal introduction of Alex’s remixing abilities with a 2 track release of two of Third Son’s recent singles, The Weather Was Everywhere and He Who Has the Chicken Foot (Shall Not Fade) while the follow on EP will reveal a new distinct sound in the form of 2 original tracks.

After nearly a decade of living in LA, Alex returned to Boston in 2018 with his wife and son to be closer to their family. Since then he’s been able to grow his brand and perform at a host of new events and venues including the prized summer series Dancing on the Charles, INFRA, and Grassfed Disco as well as releasing several compilations featuring local artists.

“Life’s a puzzle I’m just here to give you some of the missing pieces”

Under the MR. PUZL moniker Alex founded the Los Angeles Music Project, an artist collective, blog and event series that over the years cemented itself within the Los Angeles scene as household name for bringing underground acts and showcasing new releases on a regular basis.

To round out his projects to date, Alex also curates music for his own imprint PUZL Records which has seen several Beatport and Traxsource charting releases as well as features on some of Spotify's most prominent internally curated playlists.
